Traci Farden, President

With a wealth of experience gained from her successful business ownership, extensive knowledge as a director, and the founder of a local women’s empowerment group, Traci is dedicated to driving successful event planning and fundraising for mental health. Fueled by a passion for strategic change, she is committed to creating a meaningful impact on mental health through innovative leadership and active community involvement.

I believe it is the responsibility of each of us to contribute to making the world a better place. Being involved with Making Tomorrow Better provides me the privilege of giving back to our community, highlighting the importance of mental wellness while attempting to serve as a positive role model for my children.”

 

Jenn Luebkert, Vice President

With over 22 years of experience as a business owner and Project Sales Consultant, Jenn brings a strong foundation in business management and project leadership. She’s served as the Director of Sponsorship on the Canadian Construction Women’s Board of Directors and holds a PMP certification in Project Management. She also earned a Change Management Certificate from UBC’s ACMP program, equipping her to navigate complex projects and drive organizational success.

“I joined Making Tomorrow Better after witnessing the impact of mental health challenges within my own family. This experience made me aware of the stigma and lack of resources many encounter. I’m passionate about raising awareness and driving change so others don’t struggle alone. Through MTB, I’m committed to supporting mental health and creating a more compassionate world.”

 

Angela Larkin, Treasurer 

Angela is a results-driven financial professional with over 25 years of experience in financial and operational management across corporate and non-corporate environments. As a former CFO, she has been pivotal in senior management teams, where her leadership and financial oversight have been instrumental in aligning financial policies with organizational goals and values.

Arlene Whiffen, Marketing and Sponsorship Director

Arlene is a seasoned leader and strategist with over 25 years of experience in communications, public affairs and marketing. Her extensive background includes leading high-impact campaigns and initiatives that have shaped public perception and policy across various sectors.

As a member of the Board of Directors advocating for mental health awareness, Arlene leverages her strategic expertise to drive impactful initiatives and foster community engagement. She is dedicated to creating a supportive environment where mental health is openly discussed, and resources are readily available –Making Tomorrow Better.

My passion for mental health advocacy and education is deeply personal. In 2012, I tragically lost my brother to suicide. His passing ignited a profound drive within me to bring awareness to mental health issues in our community. I am committed to ensuring that mental health services are accessible to everyone in need and that no one is left to struggle alone.”

“My personal connection to mental health issues is a powerful motivation for wanting to make a difference . My experience with my family and friends’ struggles has given me first-hand insight into the need for more mental health facilities and awareness to provide the right tools for those who are struggling. My passion for creating a better tomorrow for people facing similar challenges is inspiring and serve as a driving force for change. I hope I can share my stories and insights with the potential to raise awareness and advocate for the improvement of mental health support system.

Monica Dickson, Director at Large

Monica brings a diverse skill set with 20 years of experience in the legal field, sales consulting, managing a wholesale business, and over 17 years in the health and fitness industry, where she has taught more than 10,000 yoga classes. Her achievements showcase her versatility and strong ability to connect with clients, making her a well-rounded professional who excels at building meaningful relationships and delivering impactful programs.

Gwen Cole, Secretary

Gwen brings over 20 years of experience in the financial sector and 15 years in hospitality to her role as Secretary at Making Tomorrow Better. Currently working in real estate, Gwen is highly skilled in organization, communication, and financial management. Her diverse professional background equips her with the tools to ensure efficient record-keeping, coordinate meetings, and maintain clear communication within the team. Gwen is passionate about the organization’s mission and is committed to supporting its initiatives with her expertise and dedication.
